ABOUT VFG DESIGN

Victoria Foster Gwin is the owner of the interior design firm, VFG Design.

Victoria grew up in the design business and chose to follow in her father, Norman Foster’s, rather large footsteps. Graduating from the New York University School of Design, she worked with her father in his Texas firm, where he influenced both her design and work ethic. She learned from him invaluable lessons, one of which has become the primary principle of VFG Design: Establish a hands-on, one-on-one relationship with each client.

For the past 20 years, Victoria has been a partner in San Francisco’s Foster Gwin Antiques, where she has further honed her skills and has established and grown relationships with long-term clients. She has worked on projects coast-to-coast, from California (San Francisco, the Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe), to Idaho (Sun Valley), to New York and Connecticut, and also has experience working internationally.

Victoria’s design philosophy is simple: Collect what you love, use it in your home and enjoy it. Having raised four children and currently the owner of two dogs, she believes that a home should be enjoyed.

Victoria’s style combines the use of antique furnishings with contemporary art and furniture, creating eclectic, one-of-a-kind spaces. She uses natural fabrics in neutral palettes, adding splashes of color and pattern sparingly. Victoria is passionate about helping her clients build collections in furniture, art or antiquities, creating looks that are unique to each of them.

Victoria’s designs have been featured in and on the cover of Interior Design Magazine, and in House Beautiful Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle. She has enthusiastically given back to the community by participating for several years in San Francisco’s Decorator Showcase. This annual event, widely recognized as the West Coast's premiere design show-house event, features the work of the region's top designers and benefits San Francisco University High School’s financial aid program.
